Cuprum Distillery, located in Bunbury, Western Australia, is a craft distillery founded by owners Mike Honeybell and Stewart Binnie. Together with Stewart’s son Rory, they transformed a shed into a stylish distillery with copper stills handcrafted by a local artisan. The name “Cuprum” comes from the Latin word for copper (CU), the element’s atomic number (29), and reflects their focus on using copper stills for producing exceptional spirits.
Passionate about using local ingredients, Cuprum Distillery harnesses the pure waters of the region and native botanicals to create their small batch spirits, including Gin, Whisky, Rum, and liqueurs. Situated in Bunbury, known as the city of three waters, they draw inspiration from the surrounding landscapes and rich nautical history to craft their finest spirits.
