Reed & Co Distillery, located at 15 Wills Street in Bright, is a vibrant hub where the art of spirit-making comes to life. The distillery boasts two copper stills, affectionately named Molly & Mabel, along with a cold vacuum still. Currently, a new manufacturing distillery is under construction, set to house a vacuum still for producing Shochu and other koji spirits.
The spirit-making process is a captivating spectacle, with botanicals, tanks, barrels, and lab tests filling the still room. Reed & Co takes pride in doing all their fermentation on-site, allowing visitors to witness koji production and observe long ferments bubbling away, preparing for distillation.
Originally established in 2016 as part of the esteemed Tani Eat & Drink restaurant, the distillery found its own space at 15 Wills Street after the restaurant closed its doors in 2017. The transformed building, formerly a mechanics workshop, now exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, featuring indoor and outdoor seating. This cozy setting is shared with Sixpence Coffee, a cherished local family business.
At the Distillery Door & Bar, visitors are welcomed to savor a delightful array of cocktails, spirits tastings, and peruse the distillery door bottle shop.
