Established in 2017, the roots of South Coast Distillery trace back to 2011 when housemates in Wollongong discovered their shared passion for gin during “Martini Thursdays.” This discovery ignited a quest for the perfect gin, leading them to explore distilleries, learn the craft, and develop their own recipes.
In 2018, they proudly introduced their first commercial release, Sublime Gin, which quickly gained global recognition and accolades, including Champion Australian Small Batch Spirit at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards and a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Their success continued with the 2020 Silver Award for Contemporary Style Gin at the London World Gin Awards.
Today, South Coast Distillery’s line of exceptional spirits graces fine bottle shops and restaurants throughout the Illawarra region and beyond. Their cellar door offers a warm welcome to guests every Friday evening and Saturday, providing an opportunity to sample their spirits, preview upcoming releases, and enjoy local beers, wines, spirits, and meads.
Passionate about responsibility and sustainability, South Coast Distillery proudly supports local farmers by sourcing ingredients from Illawarra-based producers whenever possible.
